A friend of mine once told me that whenever you find a feather, it means that an angel is in your life. I have found at least 5 feathers in the past few weeks so I kinda think that is a sign that an angel and God are present in my life...
I have gone through a terrible past month that makes me beyond grateful for my family. A couple weeks ago, my dad wasn't feeling well and finally decided to go to the doctor. They told him that his heart rate was abnormally high, as high as someone who had just run a race, and that it would not lower. They immediately took him to the hospital and ran further tests. It turned out that he had an abnormal heart beat and the lining of his heart wall was too thin. To see my dad all hooked up to machines and in the condition he was in was one of the scariest things I have ever gone through. After a few procedures and shocking his heart back to a normal rhythm, my daddy finally came home and back to a normal life. During the week before all of this chaos in my life I found 3 feathers.
Last week my sister got into a car accident that supposedly should have killed her. The traffic in front of her had slowed down and she attempted to use her brakes but for whatever reason they wouldn't work. She swerved through the other lane of traffic, median, frontage road, and a ditch. Eventually her car was totaled, but she walked away with only a bruise on her shoulder. Today, I found 2 more feathers at my house.
I consider myself beyond lucky to still have my dad and sister and have never been so thankful for them in my entire life. I know that my grandparents in heaven are watching over my family and blessing our lives with our health and unity.

Inspired
So I was just looking at some friend's blogs and was inspired to create a blog. Like them, I always read things like this and think "Wow, these people are incredible at writing and inspire me to think bigger and do new crazy, adventurous things!" But why can't I do that too? I can inspire someone in the same way that they inspire me. So here goes nothing, my way of expressing my thoughts, (because we all know there are a lot of random ones going on!)
It took me a really long time to think of what to name my blog. Of course it is rather insignificant, but I really wanted it to be something that inspired me and truly reflected a part of who I am. So I decided on "Just Keep Me Where The Light Is". This is a line from a John Mayer song, Gravity. This is a song about how we can't let things bring us down and how we really have to work against the world. I often feel like I'm fighting against gravity and other normal day-to-day things, but I know if I do fight against them, that is the time that I can truly blossom.
The next reason for this title is because I am a little bit beyond obsessed with John Mayer. Anyone who has spent a small amount of time with me knows of my obsession and knows that I have his songs on repeat all day long. There's just something about his music that grabs at the strings of my heart and mesmerizes me beyond belief.
And the last reason for the title is more personal and it is my love for God. I like to think of him as the light of the world, and I would like to always be kept in His light no matter where that takes me. I don't know that the song was intended to be religious by any means, but again it inspires me to follow God in every way he asks of me.
I hope to keep up this blogging as an outlet and connection to you all and to continue to be inspired by my incredible family, friends, and world that surrounds me.
